We had the best New Year's Eve. We spent it cuddled up on the couch, watching The Secret Life of Pets 2 and eating pizza. I couldn't have asked for a better night in with my family. Ella was in bed by 7:30 and Michael and I barely made it to 11 before passing out. The next morning we were up early. Michael went to the gym and Ella and I had a fun morning together.
I made Ella some breakfast. Soft boiled egg, yogurt and some fruit. She needed a nice big breakfast before our day of fun! We had decided we wanted to do something fun as a family. We opted for the LA Zoo as it's only 45 minutes away and we never go to LA! The weather was gorgeous and it was the perfect afternoon activity.
I got Ella dressed and ready for the day and by the time Michael was home, around 10, we were ready to go!
:)
We stopped for lunch at a little cafe. I got a grilled cheese and bowl of butternut squash soup. It was so yummy and Ella liked it too.
The elephants are so magical. Ella was getting sooo excited watching it eat.
The giraffes are my favorite!!!
Ella's face every time she saw a new exhibit. It was so hilarious, I was cracking up!!!
The gorilla exhibit really is something else... They behave so much like humans, it freaks me out!
I feel the same way about the chimpanzees. They are so human-like it is scary!!!
Ella did lots of walking and loves pushing her stroller.
These two are just the best!
Here's a bunch of random pics of us...
On our way out, Michael got me a blue raspberry Icee (my favorite) and we took a picture with this colorful artsy elephant really fast. What a fun day!
Thanks for checking out our trip to the LA Zoo! We will be back on Wednesday with a Day in the Life Post (I am documenting Tuesday.) Can't wait to see you all then!
What a fun family day out! So adorable seeing your daughter's cute reactions to the animals! :)
ReplyDeleteHope that your week is off to a good start! My first week back at work after the Christmas holidays so it is a busy one here!
Away From Blue
Going back to work after almost 2 whole weeks off is so hard! I only worked 3 days out of the whole two weeks, so it's been a struggle. Good luck getting back in the swing of things! xox
DeleteOh Ella is too funny! What a great trip to the zoo :)
