Hi there. I am back with my girls to host our link up "Not Just a Mom." If you missed our previous posts you can check them out below:
January was our first link up, and we shared some introductions.
February we focused in on date nights.
March was all about self-care.
April was a time for cleaning routines, perfect for Spring.
May we shared our fitness routines. Side note, I don't have one so it's not worth reading about.
In June we shared fun facts about us.
And this month we are sharing how we do girl time!
Now this year has not been the best year for my girl time. Normally I am really good about making time with my girlfriends, but we are still in social distancing mode over here, so not much recent girl time to talk about.
My friend Samantha and I used to try and get together at least once a month (kid free) and do dinner and drinks. She's a stay at home mother of two, so she needs that time even more than I do. Our last girl day we actually went to Disneyland for the day and it was an absolute blast.
Mommas day out at Disneyland! The two of us both have the annual pass so we can take our kids, but we never get to go and just enjoy the rides ourselves. I was absolutely thrilled to go with her and ride allll the rides.
We stopped by California Adventure, ate lunch and had a drink! Then we decided it would be wise to ride a rollercoaster! Sooo fun!
I can't wait for life to get back to normal so I can start spending regular time with Samantha and her kiddos again. She is the sweet friend that dropped off clothes for Ella and coffee for me. She is so thoughtful and such an amazing friend and mother. Total #mom/wifegoals

This pic was taken at my friend Jenny's new house ages ago. She had just bought her house and we wanted a grand tour and to visit with miss Ruby of course. She was so tiny and sweet- she's almost one now! Due to Covid I haven't felt comfortable getting our kids together, but we will again soon.

Sometimes girl time doesn't happen unless there's a special event pre-planned, like a wedding or a party. I may not be the best at making private plans but when I am invited to things, I always try to make an appearance. I try to do things at night after Ella is already in bed so I don't miss out on time with her.
This was from a going away party for a coworker. Our bosses took us to a hotel bar and we all drank, ate and celebrated Jeanette's accomplishments and said our goodbyes. Our office misses her lots!
This was a surprise bachelorette party for my friend Amy! It was such a fun weekend away- we went to a casino and spent the early part of the day by the pool and in the lazy river. Overnights are harder for me because I miss out on putting Ella to sleep. But girls weekends are always the best weekends, so we have to make time for them once in a while.
This was taken at our friends wedding. Weddings are my favorite and the best way to spend some girl time! Who doesn't love drinking and dancing?? It's the perfect time to spend with your girls because everyone is actually together in one place.
This was Amy's wedding! One of my favorites ever! Another amazing weekend full of fun and good times with my girlfriends.
For me, girl time comes in many different forms... As much as I love one on one time doing sushi happy hour or walking the mall, sometimes I just have to make it work anyway I can- like making attending special events a priority.
I can't wait to see how you all do girl time :)
So fun! I'm jealous that you live close enough to Disney to go with a friend for the day!
ReplyDeleteGirl time at Disney??! I like how you think!
ReplyDeleteGoing to Disney would be the best girl time ever!
ReplyDeleteA girls trip to Disney is an ultimate goal for a girls trip.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Disney without the kids--- yes please!!! hahah. SO much fun girl things!!!
ReplyDeleteThat would be so much fun to do a theme park with a best friend!
ReplyDeleteOvernights can be hard missing out on the bedtime routine, but yes so important to make exceptions every once in a while! Love all the fun with your gal pals :)
